Friends
When we were small we had that best
friend, the person we shared everything with. My art work of Becky and Sally Sue is meant to give us all those memories again. They are going out to pick flowers for the tea party they will have later in the day. I had this original
drawing printed onto fabric through the Spoonflower Company and then used my
roving wool technique to enhance this quilt. The
rayon embroidery thread gave this quilt a very shiny, fuzzy look. I hand cut
fabric flowers and fused them in place. I used tulle as an overlay to trap the
embellishments in place. This is truly something that you will not find
anywhere else, definitely a one of a kind. The quilt is machine quilted with
cotton batting for the filler. The backing fabric is the same light blue you
see on the binding. Since this is an art quilt, I do not recommend that you
wash it. It would look great framed behind glass. The quilt measures 14 inches
by 12 inches.

The inspiration for this art piece came from my youngest daughter
when she was small. Bobby, and his best friend Sally Sue, like walking through
the grass holding hands. I had this original drawing printed

quilt and added thread painting and fusible appliqué. The quilt is backed with
the same pink fabric you see in the binding. It is machine
quilted with cotton batting for the filler. This is truly something that you

My
New Dress
What little girl does not like to put on a new dress and
feel like a princess for a day. Little Judy loves the early mornings when the
birds are always up to greet her with their cheerful songs. To see her Heart
tree in full bloom lets her know it will be a very special day. I had this original drawing printed

Summer
Afternoon
Anna Bell loves to play on her swing in the summer. She says
that the butterflies tell her all the latest news that is happening in the
neighborhood. With the big oak tree to give her shade, she does not have a care
in the world. I had this original drawing printed
onto fabric through the Spoonflower Company. I started with wool felt as a base
for my art quilt and added an eyelet handkerchief. I then incorporated swirls
of roving wool. I had a spool of butterfly ribbon that I cut
apart and sprinkled in. I cut up glittered ribbon and added a dash of sequins.
I used some very pretty lavender tulle with glitter as an overlay to trap the
embellishments in place. This is truly something that you will not find
anywhere else, definitely a one of a kind. The quilt is machine quilted with
cotton batting for the filler. The backing fabric is the same lime green you
see on the binding. Since this is an art quilt, I do not recommend that you
wash it. It would look great framed behind glass. The quilt measures 15 inches

Winter
Berries
I was just sitting at the art table
and my mind started to wonder and I came up with this little bird. It reminded
me of a bird at Christmas time. I had this original drawing printed onto fabric
through the Spoonflower Company. I started with wool felt as a base for my art
quilt. I then incorporated swirls of roving wool. I sprinkled on some gold Angelia fibers and used
tulle as an overlay to trap the embellishments in place. I machine quilted a
feathered wreath to outline the center block and added thread painting of holly
leaves and berries. This is truly something that you will not find anywhere
else, definitely a one of a kind. The quilt is machine quilted with cotton
batting for the filler. The back of the quilt is the same fabric you see on the
binding. Since this is an art quilt, I do not recommend that you wash it. It
would look great framed behind glass. The quilt measures 17

Catch
of the Day
In the winter in Minnesota the favorite thing to do is ice
fishing. This little gal could not be having more fun than ice fishing and
getting her full quota for the day. I had this original drawing printed onto fabric through the
Spoonflower Company. I started with wool felt as a base for my art quilt and place
a fuzzy variegated trim around the block. I cut ribbon and then laid it around
the art piece. I added confetti snowflakes and then used tulle as an overlay to trap the
embellishments in place. With my border and corner squares in place, I stipple
quilted in the center of the quilt and quilted snowflakes on the corner squares
and icicles around the border. The fabric on the back of the quilt is the same
fabric you see in the binding. This is truly something that you will not find
anywhere else, definitely a one of a kind. The quilt is machine quilted with
cotton batting for the filler. Since this is an art quilt, I do not recommend

Pumpkin

I really enjoyed this fall appliqué
wool art piece. The basis of appliqué is to incorporate colored fabrics to
create the images onto fabric. I free hand cut the images of the pumpkins and
leaves and fused them in place. I added a small green border around the outside
edge to frame the artwork. I then used my Juki sewing machine to machine quilt
the entire piece. I really enjoyed the free motion stitching that was done on
this piece. The backing of the quilt is the same fabric you see on the binding.
This is truly something that you will not find

Romantic
Hearts
When I decided to make this wool art
quilt I wanted to make it as feminine as possible. I decided to use the art
piece that I drew called Romantic Hearts as the center of the project. I had my
original drawing printed onto fabric through the Spoonflower Company. I started with wool felt as a base
for my art quilt and then added silk flowers and leaves, and of course, hearts.
I tried something new with the roving wool as well, by creating some hearts out
of it around the center art piece. This gave it a shadowy effect. In this
particular quilt I incorporated many different techniques. I added embroidery,
thread painting, bead work and added a little lace to frame in my center block.
The quilt is machine quilted and also hand quilted in the center. The backing
of the quilt is the same fabric you see on the binding. This is truly something that you will not find
anywhere else, definitely a one of a kind. The quilt is machine quilted with

Dancing
Sunflowers
I really love the sunflower and the
way an entire field will face the sun on a summer day. I had this original
drawing printed onto fabric through the Spoonflower Company. I started with wool felt as a base
for my art quilt then added the roving wool, some snippets of Angelina fibers
to give it some sparkle and some silk flowers and leaves. I layered it with
tulle to hold everything in place and then I used my Juki sewing machine to
free motion quilt the outer border. I decided to hand quilt the center block
with a cross hatch design, so as not to distract from the center image. I still
thought it needed a little bling, so I hand stitched glass beads as accents
around the sunflowers. The backing of the quilt is the same fabric you see on
the binding. This is truly something that you will not find
anywhere else, definitely a one of a kind. The quilt is machine quilted with
cotton batting for the filler. Since this is an art quilt, I do not recommend
that you wash it. It would look great framed behind glass. The quilt measures 16 inches by 14
inches.
